Reddish brown, rust like lesions, usually on the underside of leaves. Infection leads to lowered yields. Severe infection leads to leaf drop. Infection easily spread by rain. Prophylactic treatments more cost effective |

Leaf spots (Black . spots and Brown Spot) |
Most crops |
Lesions on leaf surface caused by damage due to fungal infection. Yields drop even with minimal infection. Severe infection leads to leaf drop and even plant death. Prophylactic and/ or curative treatments offer full control. |

Powdery Mildew(PM) |
Most crops |
A greyish- whitish powdery looking leaf surface is observed on infected plants. Disease may cause flower and fruit abortion if severe. Either way, yields are compromised |

Damping-off |
Most seedlings |
Pathogens cause extensive damage to the germinating seed, early growth within the soil, root rot, tuber rot, root damage and seedling diseases (often referred to as damping-off). |

Necrotic lesions appear on infected leaves, leading to lowered yields. Infection occurs long before visible symptoms appear Foliage, tubers and fruits are all susceptible |
